Driving directions: Take Hwy 120 E into Yosemite. Approximately 4 hours from the Bay Area, 5 on a Friday afternoon, depending on traffic conditions.

Maps: Bob Burd's topo map

Trail condition: This is an used trail. The first half is in good condition, but the second half can be easily lost. The peak is visible, so try to scramble directly to it.

Description and other notes: The second highest peak in Yosemite, Mount Dana offers fantastic views of the park. However, the majority of this hike is on barren rock, and it requires a bit of off trail scrambling. Parts of the peak look like rock pile rubble, but the views of Mono Lake and Yosemite are incredible.
